• The following texts and examples of HORCOM8P-output-screens shall inform You about the possibilitys and qualities of this program.

• The most realistic impression,You get with the resolution 1024*768 pixels and 256 colors or more.This is at present the optimal resolution for HORCOM8P . Then  the examples appear almost  like reality,apart the scrollbars,which are used in HORCOM only for text-windows.

•  Please bring this window to maximum size !

File-system of HORCOM :

• HORCOM has its own file-system with a fixed field-structure. Every data-record has a length of 128 byte.Commentarys are restricted to 51 characters. The format was created,when storage area was poor.

• AAF-Files (  AAF = " Astrologisches Austausch  Format " ) created by MARTIN GARMS,can be changed into HORCOM-format and vice versa.The website of M.GARMS is : http://www.sternwerkstatt.de

  Also editing in the AAF-Format is possible with HORCOM8P.
  The pilot format is the "classical" HORCOM-format,with the option,to change anytime in the more flexible AAF-format.
  A specimen of a AAF-file,named "MERIDIAN.AAF" is included.

• Place-files in the HORCOM-Format are at hand for Germany,Austria,Switzerland,UK,USA and for the bigger places for Europe and World in the directory "\HORCOM\SPEZ_ORT"

• More extensive place-files  ( ca. 445 000 places ) for Europe and USA are contained in the subdirectory \BIGFILES,which can be downloaded via line 7 of the Menü at the homepage.

• More such files for most Countrys of the world are available from the  author on CD ( ca. 2.2  Million Places ) for EURO 30.-

  Such files were derived from the geographic files of "NIMA" = National magery and Mapping Agency ( USA )
   

• A particular place can be emphasized as " Preferred Place ".

• For worldwide search, an Atlas as the ENCARTA world-atlas of MS is very useful.

Operation of HORCOM :

 The operation uses simple,clear Dialogues,Menus and Texts,without icons.Usually,You have to answer only one requirement,step by step.

• Experts of WINDOWS will find the order of the menu somewhat strange.HORCOM has originated before WINDOWS and remained essentially as it allways was,so that the "old" users could maintain their  habits.

• The elaborate commentarys can be seen out of the main menu or out of the output-screens with F1,which gets in each case the appropriate commentary.

• The picture-superscripts are also to be heeded for the operation.

• A printed handbook is not intended and also not necessary.The appropriate commentary appears with the F1-key out of every output-screen.

• All output-screens can be printed out as Hardcopy.The printer-dialogues appear only,when the "Printer Option" is active.

• Important outputs,as for example horoscopes,can be printed also with the higher resolution of the printer ( = printer-graphics ).

• Each HORCOM - output fills the whole screen. Only text-windows have a Scrollbar.

• When leaving a sub-program, the main menu appears,so that You can start further applications.

• The operation is allways straightforward.Only few "tricks" are suitable.

• The Format of Datum can be selected in the modes  Day.Month.Year or Month/Day/Year.In AAF-Files,the  format of Datum is allways Day.Month.Year.

Available planets,resp. objects:

•  Sun ( Earth),Moon,Mercury,Venus....... until Pluto

•  Moon-nodes as median value or momentary value ( = True value ).

• Black moon ( = Moons Apogee,also named "Lilith", as median value or momentary value ( = True value ),

  The black moon was,to my knowledge,introduced in astrology by french astrologers :

  L.MILLAT,R.DAUTREMONT, M.DUVAL " LUNE NOIRE ", EDITIONS TRADITIONAL DOCK SAINT MICHEL - PARIS / 1983.

  They used two intersecting half-circles as symbol,which HORCOM also uses.

  For the momentary value of the " Black Moon ", HORCOM delivers values which can have a few arcminutes error.The median value is comparatively exact.The momentary value oscillates about the median value with a maximal amplitude of more than 20°.

• Trans-Pluto ( = " Isis " ) is a hypothetical "planet" ,which is much in use in astrology.In HORCOM,I have used the orbital elements of NEIL.F.MICHELSON. I have some doubt about the substantiation of this object.One should omit it.

• Point of Luck  : ( AC + - ( SU - MO ))

• Chiron for 2700 years and Ceres,Pallas,Juno,Vesta ,the four first discovered asteroids.These are real astronomical objects,for 600 years.Quaoar for the same time-span as Pluto.
   
• The asteroids Pholus,Damocles,Nessus.These are also real astronomical objects for 600 years.The comet Halley,a real astronomical object, for 500 years.
• 
   
• Cupido,Hades,... ..Poseidon,the 8 hypothetical " planets " of the "HAMBURGER SCHULE".These have only astrological and no astronomical existence.
• 
   
• All objects can be calculated geozentric,heliocentric or topocentric ( = " With Parallax" ).

• For the big planets ME until PL, also the mean Nodes and Apsides are to be displayed in the table of coordinates..

Horoscopes:

Basic horoscope with following characteristics :

1. Ecliptical Longitude and Velocity in arcminutes/day.
2. Elements - histogram Fire - Earth - Air  -  Water. Optional  only for signs or with  houses.
3. Histogram for Cardinal - Fix - Mutable . Optional  only for signs or with  houses.
4. Histogram for aspects for divisor  4,8,12,16 .
5. Optionally a list of the Halfpoints : Direct,Square,Halfsquare.
6. Numerous features are variable.Orbes and evaluations of the factors adjustable.Selection of the aspect-lines to be drawn after type and color possible.

Besides the ecliptical houses - and planets positions, also a horoscope  with so-called " mundane " positions in a topozentric horizon-system with reference to the equator (not the ekliptic) can be drawn.This has a narrow relationship to the primary-directions of E.C.KUEHR.

• Combin, ( after PHILIP SCHIFFMANN ,Vienna Austria )  with up to 5 partners

• DOUBLE - HOROSCOPE ( horoscope-comparison ) with any records and aspectarium.

• Statistical evaluations of bigger files :

          One generates first an "Evaluable File" ,which contains the coordinates etc.

• Some or all can be replaced with own definitions.

• Solar, horoscopes, simple changing from year to year,without new input.

• Lunar, horoscopes, simple changing from circulation  to circulation ,without new input.

• Solar - Tables  for 84 years.

• Lunar - tables for 84 moon-circulations.

• Planetars for the astronomically  " real " planets  and planetoids. Geocentric,heliocentric or topocentric. The retrograde and direct planetars are specifically listed in each case.

• Personars after P.ORBAN and I.ZINNELfor the astronomically  " real " planets  and planetoids. Geocentric,heliocentric or topocentric.

• Day - horoscope = horoscope for the same " true sun-time"  as with the radix.Simple changing from day to day,without new input.

• Progressive-Horoscope after the correspondence " 1 day = 1 year ", in accordance with Secondary Directions,in 4 different versions:

1. 1. UT of the Progressive Horoscope = UT of the Radix, UT = GMT =Greenwich-time.
   2. True sun-time of the Progressive Horoscope = True sun-time of the Radix.
   3. House-Rotation accordingly 1 day = 1 year .
   4. Strictly proportional conversion of the Julian day - difference,accordingly 1 day = 1 year,for planets and houses.

• Following evaluations can be represented about the "Muenchner Rhythmenlehre"of WOLFGANG DOEBEREINER :

1. 1. Horoscope-graphics with time-scale of the releases,to the left in the picture
   2. Release-table for the 12 phases (1 to 2 pages)
   3. List of Degree - Date of the releases for every integer of the 360 degrees ( 3 pages ).In the list,the " critical degrees "  with their characteristic planets-constellation are marked.

The phase-length and the direction ( clockwise = "right" and the reverse = "left" ) are selectable.The time-unit as date or optionally LY / month,where LY = life-year.

• Transits can be represented in following types:

1. 1. Table with selection of planets ( resp. objects ),time-interval and basic arc ( resp. divisor ).
   2. Horoscope-graphics.The current planets are seen around the Radix with selectable time-unit and stop/go.
   3. Linear-graphics alternatively for 1 month,4 months or 16 months  with selection of planets ( resp. objects ),time-interval and basic arc ( resp. divisor ).

             The ordinate-direction is selectable, downward or upward .
             At the screen;You can draw vertical lines with th mousekey for marking special timepoints.

   The basic arc can be selected between 360° ( = conjunction = divisor 1 ) until  15° ( = divisor  24 ), and in the table-representation also  combinations,as 30° and 45° or 60° and 90°.
   This is represented analog  also for directions.
   The planets ( resp. factors ) to be represented can be selected.

• Qualitative evaluation of secondary-directions as " Dynamogram " after KRAFFT-GOERNER as linear-graphics,for in each case approximately 4 years of life with interval-switching.

• Sun - and Moon - arc - directions Representations analogous Transits

Secondary - directions as well as Sun - and Moon - arc - directions can be represented in following types :

• Mundane Aspects = aspects of the moving planets among each other.

1. 1. Mundane Aspects can be represented as table or as linear graphics,analogous to the representation of transits etc. Example with linear graphics,see under  " astronomic features..... ".
   2. The mundane-aspects can be used also as support for the hour-astrology in order, for example, to test whether the moon is " void of course".

   
   The planets to be represented and aspects ( basic arc resp. divisor ) are freely selectable.

• Symbolic Directions ecliptikal or equatorial can be represented as table analogously the example of the primarily directions portrayed below.
• 
  The time-key,the planets and the basic arc are selectable.

As time-unit You can choose :

• 1. Date
  2. Years of life
  3. Arc in degree decimal or degree-minute-second.

• The time-key is freely selectable, usually the Naibod-key ,as well the planets and basic arc.

The inversion of the symbols of MA,SA,UR,NE,PL is optional.

• Multiple directions after STEPHAN LEHRIEDER as horoscope-graphics with  aspects and coincidences. M stands for multi, R for Radix.

•  Correction - programs for correction after:

1. 1. Sidereal Time
   2. MC
   3. AC
   4. Housecusps
   5. Sun
   6. Moon
   7. Correction with "Primaryly Rotated Axes".

With 1. until 6. one puts in the required value and gets promptly the  corrected data-record.

With 7. one puts in the dates of  significant events.The program rotates the main axes AC and MC corresponding the equation
" 1 Year = 1 Day "  in both directions,with or against the sidereal time-progress.One then examines,if this rotation leads to strong,significant  aspects of AC or MC with the radix-planets or eventl. the event-planets.

The procedure requires much experience and practice and can hardly be automated.But it seems to me one of the best methods for correction of birthtime,if not too great a uncertainty of time is to be presumed.

• Time - Walking with horoscope-graphics : The " birth-time " is varied with arbitrary steps continuously and the affiliated horoscope shown.The variation  is managable during the course.Also this program can be used for correction - studies or for studies of "time-qualities".

          A Counter for Aspects with divisor 1 to 12 and for Halfpoints ( if the Halfpoint-List in Horoscope is active ) can be used.

• Clock - Funktion  = horoscope of the current time and the current place.
• 
  Current UT = GMT, AC ,MC and sidereal time displayed in the main-menu.
  Usable optionally also as radix-data-record, with certain restrictions.

• Big year  or Platonic Year .

•  With this program,after input of a time-point,f.e.  for the beginning of the " Aquarius-Age ",the " age-point" of any data- record  can be determined.
  The "age-point" moves accordingly the precession of the equinoxes with ca. 25800 years fo a complete cycle.
