Download of an executable demo version of HORCOM8P

The Demo-Version,is actually a demo-option.
After starting HORCOM8P the question
for Your
password appears.As
long as You not have got an individual password,You press the ESC - key and are in the demo-version.
With it,You can study all functions
of the program for the following time-spans :
100 b.Chr. to
100 A.D.
1500
to 1600
1800
to 1920
1960
to 1970
1890
to 2010
The clock-function is only
executable with the full version,for which You need an individual password.
For experiments with HORCOM,You may use
the Data-File ....\DEMODAT.DAT,which contains only data-records
within the above mentioned time-slots.
Other restrictions don't exist.
It is advisable to use only dates within these time-slots,because otherwise all inputs will be deleted and eventl. faults might result.
About details
concerning the ordering of the full version,see under line 6 in
the menu at the homepage.
So You manage the Installation of HORCOM8P via download in WINDOWS XP :
The file,that contains all necessary files for HORCOM8P, is a zipped executable file named HORCOMZE.EXE
The download of this file is
accomplished by Your browser in the usual way.
The size is ca. 7
MByte.With a modem,You need ca. half an hour for the download.
Note please,where You have
positioned this file during the download.
The file HORCOMZE.EXE ( made with ZIP-GENIE by DATA BECKER,Germany ) is selfextracting.You need no own zip-program.
After download,You start this program simply with double click out of the explorer.The expansion is managed automatically in the path,for which You are asked in the second dialogue.
For example,You
can enter here :
C: or C:\MYPATH or D:\MYFILES ( if You have D:
available )
After the expansion,into the defined path,there is now established a directory \HORCOM,which contains all files,required for HORCOM8P.
In this directory \HORCOM ,You find a file,named INSTALH.EXE ,which You must start with double click.You will be asked,for the path of the directory \AAFDATEN and follow the dialog.Here it is advisable to mark the last line of the two or three offered,Then the directory \AAFDATEN is in the directory ..\HORCOM.
The pathes will
be stored in the file :
C:\HORCOM.PTH
, that You should not delete,otherwise You must execute INSTALH.EXE
again.
After Installation,it is advisable to make a link of HORCOM8P.EXE to the desktop.
The program HORCOMZE.EXE,You
should store,as compact backup.
The above mentioned
procedure is valid
for the newer Versions of WINDOWS starting with WINDOWS ME......until WINDOWS XP.
Long file-names are eventually shortened as " Shortpathname ".
For WINDOWS95A...,or
if You have trouble with the above mentioned procedure,You must install \HORCOM directly in a main
directory,like C: or D: without any other subdirectory.
The INSTALH.EXE
here should not be executed !
( The file C:\HORCOM.PTH
in this case should not exist ).
The demo version can be relayed at other prospective users.These should be registered by the author.
After starting HORCOM8P,You will be asked for a password.If You still have not got an individual password,simply press "ESC" and You are in the DEMO-version of the program.
Later,if You have got a password ( = full version ), You enter simply the password ( hidden ) without edit-line and RETURN in small or big characters.The program will start immediatly and shows the MAIN MENU of HORCOM.

press F1 or
the right mousekey and follow
the suggestions in the introductory text.
That certainly will save You much time,which You would have to
spend with unsystematic experiments.
The best Screen-Resolution for HORCOM is 1024/768 pixel or an other resolution with a side-ratio of 4/3 = 1.33333 f.e. 1280/960 or 1600/1200.
Please deactivate in the WINDOWS-Settings the item "Task-Line allways in the Foreground".Otherwise the output-screens of HORCOM may not be fully visible.
